Nothing so slight that it doesn't count...

It's just a letter to the editors, but it's The Atlantic, by God! It's the Atlantic.

I penned a response to David Frumm's argument "How Much Immigration Is Too Much?" in the April, 2019 issue. Said letter appears in the Letters/ The Conversation section of the June, 2019 issue.

How I found out...

If they notified me, I deleted the email without opening it, thinking probably it was yet another early renewal offer.

I found out my letter had made it to the big show from a friend who had a friend who had recommended a piece in the June issue, "Abolish the Priesthood," by James Carroll. Through sheer good luck I've worked with a half-dozen seminarians who left the seminary to marry, experience secular life, etc. My friend, finishing the Carroll piece recommended by his friend, flipped through the rest of the book and noticed my letter.

Thanks to my friends Jim and Carol and to The Atlantic.
